Forty-one years at the Florida bar — and Florida publishes ten. His is the sharpest illustration on this site of what the ten-year window costs: thirty-one years of his career sit outside what the register displays. He began as a felony prosecutor in Orange County, then defended insurers, then switched sides in 1988.

Florida publishes ten years, and only ten years. The line above reads 10-Year Discipline History: None. That is a statement about the last decade, not about a career. The Florida Bar is authoritative on what it covers — it publishes bar number, standing, eligibility, admission date and discipline, and it stands behind all of it — but it says nothing whatever about the years before the window opens.

On this page that matters enormously. Timothy David has been admitted forty-one years, so the register reaches under a quarter of his career. Four of the twelve lawyers here have been admitted long enough that most of their record sits outside it. Four others were admitted recently enough that the window covers everything.

And the lower half of the record is the lawyer’s own. Sections, practice areas, languages and firm size are filled in by the member, not verified by the Bar. Six of our twelve Orlando listings left practice areas blank entirely. Where it is filled in it is the only place a register on this site will say what a lawyer holds himself out to do — which is why one entry here reading “Criminal, Criminal Appellate” is worth stopping on.

What the record shows

Admitted 24 May 1985. That is forty-one years, and the Florida Bar publishes a ten-year discipline history. Thirty-one years of his career are outside what the register shows. Of the twelve lawyers on this page he has by far the longest record and by far the largest gap.Verified

That says nothing about him. It is what the register does. Florida is authoritative on the decade it covers and silent on everything before it — the same problem we set out on our Florida page when Philip Gerson’s fifty-five-year career came down to a ten-year statement.Verified

His register entry gives the firm as Timothy David with a firm size of 1, at a Lake Mary residential address. His site trades as David Law Group, P.A. and describes a Longwood practice founded in 1988.Verified

His biography says he has over 35 years of legal experience. The register makes it forty-one.Verified

What the firm says

He says he began as a felony prosecutor in Orange County, moved to insurance defence at a Central Florida firm, and founded his own practice in Longwood in 1988 representing injured people against the insurers he had defended.Reported

He says he took his J.D. at Nova Southeastern University in 1985 — the register confirms the law school — and a B.S. at the University of Central Florida in 1981.Reported

He says he is a member of the American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association and the American Association for Justice.Reported

What we haven’t checked

Not established. Thirty-one years of his career, which fall before the ten-year window the Florida Bar publishes. His practice areas, sections and languages, which he did not report to the register. We have not reviewed court records for case outcomes, we print no settlement or verdict figures, and we have no basis for judging quality of representation. A bar check is a floor, not a ranking.
